How it works

Three steps, and none of them are complicated.

01

Tell us the date

Guest count, venue, and what you're picturing for the bar. We'll confirm availability and send a flat quote.

02

We build your list

You get an exact shopping list two weeks out: how many bottles, what mixers, what garnish. You do the buying, so you pay retail rather than a markup.

03

We run the night

Setup, service, IDs, and breakdown. At the end you get a clean bar area, and your remaining stock is packed up and accounted for.

Important for 2026

Oklahoma changed the rules on July 1.

Under the Marissa Murrow Act, any event held somewhere other than property you own requires a licensed ABLE event bartender with in-person training. Self-service is not permitted. This covers rented venues and spaces that aren't technically venues — a short-term rental, a park, a leased barn.

What it means for you

  • Applies anywhere other than property you own
  • Short-term rentals and non-venue spaces are included
  • BYOB and beer-and-wine-only events are not exempt
  • No alcohol service between 2:00 AM and 8:00 AM

Where we stand

  • Licensed under the new requirement, training completed — see ABLE's fact sheets
  • General liability and liquor liability carried year-round
  • Written service and cut-off protocol we'll share on request

Questions

The things everyone asks.

Can't a friend or family member just bartend for us?

Only if your event is at your own home or on land you own. Anywhere else — a venue, a short-term rental, a park — Oklahoma requires a licensed event bartender and does not permit self-service. On your own property it's legal, though ABLE doesn't recommend it: the liability sits entirely with you.

We're renting a cabin or Airbnb. Does that count?

Yes. A short-term rental isn't property you own, so the requirement applies — whether or not the listing calls itself a wedding venue. That covers cabins, lodges, Airbnb and VRBO stays, and vacation rentals generally.

Do you provide the alcohol?

No — and it isn't a preference, it's Oklahoma law. A bartending service can't legally purchase alcohol for your event; it has to be bought by you. The upside is real, though: you're buying at retail rather than paying a vendor's markup, which is usually the single biggest saving on a bar.

What happens to the alcohol we don't use?

At a private home or a rented space where you supplied the alcohol, the remaining stock is entirely yours — we pack it up and hand it back at breakdown. At a licensed or commercial venue, check your contract, since some have their own policies about removing opened or partially consumed bottles from the premises.

How much alcohol should we buy?

We'll tell you exactly. Two weeks before your event you get a shopping list built from your guest count and bar style — bottle counts, mixers, and garnish. Send us your order before you buy it and we'll flag anything short.

Do you provide ice for a keg?

If your bar includes a keg, keeping it chilled is the host's responsibility. The coolers and ice we bring are for beer, wine, and mixed-drink service — a keg needs its own tub or kegerator. We're glad to advise on what works for your setup.

When do you arrive?

Typically 1 to 1.5 hours before the ceremony or event start. Setup runs while guests are arriving, and we're ready to pour the moment the bar opens.

How many bartenders do we need?

One per 75 guests for full cocktail service, or one per 100 for beer and wine only. Tell us your guest count and we'll recommend rather than upsell.

Can we charge guests for drinks?

No. Selling drinks — including tickets or tokens guests pay for — is an alcohol sale under Oklahoma law and requires licensing your event doesn't hold. A host-funded drink ticket system is completely fine, and we're happy to run one.

What happens if someone has had too much?

We handle it discreetly and professionally. We work from a written protocol, which we're happy to share.

What if the party runs long?

Just tell us. Your agreement lays out the schedule for your event and the rate for additional time, so there's no guesswork — we'll confirm the cost with you before we stay. It needs to come from you directly rather than from a guest, which saves an awkward conversation about the invoice later.

Do you travel to Hochatown and Broken Bow?

Regularly. We're used to vacation homes in remote settings, limited power, and outdoor bars. Send your address and we'll quote the travel honestly.

Do you do corporate and private events, not just weddings?

Absolutely. Holiday parties, company picnics, fundraisers, retirements, grand openings, and private celebrations of every kind. The same licensed, insured service — we'll tailor the bar to the event and your headcount.

Do you offer an alcohol-free bar?

Yes — our Dry Bar is a fully staffed, alcohol-free bar built for dry weddings, showers, corporate events, and any celebration that skips the alcohol. Craft mocktails, zero-proof spirits, specialty sodas, fresh lemonade, and specialty coffee. Unlike our alcohol packages, we supply the ingredients for this one. Ask us for Dry Bar pricing when you inquire.
